My Influencers

I don’t have many people I look up to and want to be like in life, but my parents are definitely on my list.

My mom and dad are people I look up to because they have worked so hard for what they have. Nothing was handed to them; they had to handle themselves independently. I want to be the same way and work hard to become successful. They have always taught me to do the right thing and showed me how to be a good person. They have good morals and standards, and I strive to be like my parents when I’m older.

Accomplishments

One thing that I am proud of that I have accomplished is getting into the National Junior Honor Society and the National Honor Society. I am proud of myself that I have kept my grades up for this long even when things got hard and I had obstacles. I have always put school first and getting into the National Honor Society felt like it had all paid off. I will continue to strive for high grades to feel accomplished.

Interests

Astronomy

I’ve always been interested in space and how the universe works, I think because my dad is too. We always watch television shows that explain things about space. I always wonder how and why the universe got created (since I’m not religious) and was very interested to know more about it. When I’m alone, I just think about how could this giant universe be created from nothing, if something can’t be made from nothing. How did the first atom ever get here? How did the first organism end up on Earth? How did the first human end up on Earth? If the universe is so big, there has to be alien life forms on a different planet. Are there multiverses? And the thing that frustrates me the most about astronomy is that I will probably never get any of these answers in my lifetime.

My Photography Evolution

Ever since I was young I enjoyed taking photos. I would take pictures of everything, from animals and insects in my backyard, to my family and friends. I always enjoyed being behind the camera instead of in the spotlight. The first picture I ever remember taking was of a lady bug on my deck. I started by just using my iPod touch to take pictures, but as I got older I asked for a Cannon camera for Christmas, and my parents were very generous to buy me one. I also enjoyed making movie trailers and movies for as long as I can remember. I used to get my family to be in them and edit the videos together. This really influenced my career path choices. As time went on, I turned my hobbies into a reality. I decided to go to the vocational-technical high-school near me, and picked the Media Technology shop there. It focuses on photography and video production. I really enjoy it, and still take photos outside of school often.
